Triumvir x BlazBlue Project

triumvir x blazblue

I proudly announce our next collaboration project with Aksys Games, in a joint partnership to collaborate on the BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger project. For those of you that are not familiar, BlazBlue is the newest creation from the developers (Arc System Works) of the cult-classic 2D fighting game, Guilty Gear

When Aksys Games first approached Triumvir about doing a collaboration with the BlazBlue project I was feeling a little unsure. There were many reasons for this, one being that we recently released our first Street Fighter collaborative collection, two being that it was another 2D fighting classic from Japan, and three, I did not want to typecast Triumvir as a gaming associated label.

I really had to think about this opportunity that was in front of me. The best way was for me to separate myself away from what I thought the public opinion would or might be. One day, as I sat in my living room playing the new Street Fighter II HD Remix, I started reminiscing about the other 2D titles that would eventually get revamped into this new HD format. Then it was clear that as a gamer myself, it was never a dilemma to be mastering two, three, or four fighting games at the same time on different consoles or arcades. A decade ago, as a teen, I loved playing Street Fighter II, Soul Edge, King of Fighters, and Guilty Gear titles. And as an adult now the titles I have laying on my coffee table today are Soulcalibur IV, Street Fighter IV, ………., and ………..

Triumvir is a dream of mine, so to work with any one of these 2D fighting titles, only adds to it. Plus, I wouldn’t want to see anyone else in our niche industry take this opportunity. Let’s face it while everyone in the streetwear industry is talking about the recession, the video gaming industry has continued to defy this recession. If we look back to the early 20th century when the United States was suffering through “The Great Depression,” we see that movies and other sorts of entertainments were not suffering but extremely popular. Hey, I myself rather stay home and get on Xbox Live instead of standing at the same club every week talking to the same Joe/Jane’s conversing about how my business is doing in this recession… “hey, it’s like what I f*&king told you last f*&king week…”

Have Fun,

BRANDON…
